Discarded is a collection of images focusing on the relationship between abandoned items and the natural world. These objects can be anything from personal items to trash, both being left to decay. It never ceases to amaze me that even though we know the negative impact on the environment plastic and other materials cause, we still use and discard them every day.
The idea of being left behind/discarded has always fascinated me. The sense that some of these items are relatively important to us as humans. I’ve seen single shoes, abandoned cars, and even stray shopping carts in places you wouldn’t expect. Through photographing these subjects, I have become more aware of the scale of the problem and how important it is for all of us to reduce our carbon footprint.
